Are you looking to correct your teeth? Has chewing become more difficult? If you’d like to replace missing teeth—or even all of your teeth—you may be a good candidate for dentures or partial dentures. Whether you’ve lost your teeth from decay, trauma, or infections, Neal C. Green, D.D.S., Inc. can provide the perfect solution at an affordable price.
Types of Dentures
Dentures are more comfortable, more durable, and fit better than ever before. While many people think of dentures as full teeth replacements, some people only need partial dentures to support their remaining teeth.
We offer the following types of dentures:
- Removable partial dentures: These are meant to mimic the look and feel of natural teeth and are a suitable option for patients who only need to replace a few teeth. These well-fitting partials use the adjacent teeth as support. There are several types of materials to choose from, cast (metal) to Valplast (metal-free) partials.
- Complete dentures: Full dentures are an option for patients who have no remaining teeth. Although we offer full dentures, we often recommend dental implants instead because full dentures are supported only by your soft tissue and the remaining bone. Because there are no tooth roots to stimulate the jawbone, the bone gradually disintegrates, which makes the dentures ill-fitting. When finances allow, we recommend dental implants or dentures supported by dental implants. If finances don't allow, you always have the option of full dentures supported by your natural bone.
- Fixed bridges: Fixed bridges are supported by your natural teeth or dental implants. They are crowns that are bonded together to act like a bridge to replace the missing teeth, and they are cemented in, which makes them far more secure and comfortable than removable partial dentures. Bridges, like implants, are the closest thing to replacing your natural teeth and the natural chewing function you are used to.
