Teeth Whitening in Santa Clarita
Get a Brighter Smile with Take-Home Whitening System
The number-one requested cosmetic dental treatment is teeth whitening. If your smile could use a boost and your oral health is good, teeth whitening is a simple, noninvasive cosmetic treatment that can improve the appearance of your smile. At Neal C. Green, D.D.S., Inc., we offer take-home teeth whitening systems so you can whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home. This painless, cost-efficient, and effective teeth whitening technique is suitable for most patients.
About Take-Home Whitening Systems
The whitening trays we offer can be worn for as little as 15 minutes per day. The whitening gel we provide is only available at our dental office, not over the counter. It allows you to get professional whitening results in the convenience and comfort of your own home.
We will take impressions of your teeth to give you custom-fit trays that are made just for you. When the trays come back from the lab, you will notice a small bump on each tooth’s front surface, which is where the dollop of gel is placed. You can load the trays with one continuous bead of gel from molar to molar, which uses about half to a third of a syringe per the top and bottom trays. Next, insert the tray and lightly tap the side of your teeth to ensure the fit is snug. Finally, remove the tray and brush your teeth to clean off the excess gel. Make sure you clean your trays between whitening treatments.
We only offer take-home whitening systems because in-office teeth whitening techniques can cause intense teeth sensitivity and gum irritation both during and after an appointment—not to mention the cost of in-office whitening. We understand a lot of teeth stains come from coffee, tea, soda, red wine, and certain foods we eat. Paying the high cost of in-office bleaching can add up quickly when having to repeat the process. Why not have the option of a home bleaching system so anytime you feel your teeth are discoloring, you just pop in your trays and you're well on your way to having that bright smile once again. It's a very cost-effective long-term treatment.
Other Ways You Can Brighten Your Smile
The best way to achieve and maintain brighter, whiter teeth is to change a few of your habits.
We recommend that you:
- Practice good oral hygiene: By brushing your teeth twice a day for two minutes at a time, you can keep them whiter while preventing cavities. Toothpaste with fluoride is best, even for children, unless your dentist recommends otherwise. Make sure you replace your toothbrush every three to four months or as soon as you notice the bristles fraying. You should also floss once per day.
- Avoid foods that stain teeth: Limit foods and beverages that are prone to discoloring the teeth, including red wine, soda, coffee, tea, and acidic drinks. Tomato sauce and blueberries, just to name a few, can also stain the teeth.
- Don’t smoke: If you smoke or use tobacco in any form, you should consider options to help you quit. Tobacco stains the teeth and poses serious health risks to the body.
